While auction sites such as Ebay are great places to find bargains and hard to find items, it is also in your best interest to be a smart shopper. The most important thing to remember when shopping on Ebay is to read the ad description.  If there is not enough information then contact the seller and ask him or her questions that are necessary for you to make a purchase.  You don’t want to purchase an item that is different from what you expected.  Make sure you read the description.

Look out for keywords such as New, Used and Authentic.   If you want to purchase a new item then make sure the description says New.  If you don’t look carefully, you might end up with a refurbished item or worse a knock off item.

Be aware of the total cost.  On Ebay it is very easy to charge an extremely low price for an item and then make up the difference in the cost by charging a huge amount of money for shipping and handling.  Of course you can find items for one penny, but shipping and handling will cost you an arm and a leg.

So if you are shopping for items on Ebay be aware of what you’re buying and you will have a much better shopping experience.
